about
"At the studio me and my friends use, The Mystic Fortress, we have this rackmount audio-storage device called the Masterlink, made by Alesis. We dump all our finished mixes onto this Masterlink, edit them a bit, then write CD’s off of it using its built-in burner. It’s like our motherboard, where we store all our music. We had a bunch of unissued Young Sinclairs recordings kind of languishing on the Masterlink, some newer ones from the 2009-2010 period, and some much older ones spanning as far back as 2006. At the suggestion of our friends and associates who were starting up a new music label, Sewn Together Records, we decided to go through the archives and compile whatever Young Sinclairs songs were lying around that hadn’t ever been put out on any album. The band was on somewhat of a hiatus during 2011 and the next step, if any, was unsure. We didn’t like the idea of all these killer Sinclairs tunes just sitting on the Masterlink not being heard, so John Thompson and I went through and handpicked all the songs that make up this collection, “Culled From The Link”. In a way, it was like a cleaning-out process, a way to start over from a clean slate. Though, believe it or not, there are even more unheard Young Sinclairs recordings deep within the archives that have yet to see the light of day. Those will eventually be available on future releases – we plan on doing further installments of these collections." -Samuel Jones Lunsford
